Our Story
P & E started EMIT in 2022 upon graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in biomedical engineering. EMIT evolved from a self-selected capstone project, of which topics should address an issue or event occurring in society. Creating a male contraceptive product would have a positive impact globally: decrease the percentage of unplanned pregnancies and unsafe abortions; balance responsibility of birth control and financial ownership; and provide a humane option versus sterilization. EMIT was developed after months of research to educate ourselves, and better understand the male reproductive system as perceived by clinicians in urology. Our product is an optimal innovative solution for a natural biodegradable, non-toxic, non-hormonal, minimally invasive, and reversible male birth control.

Our Location
EMIT is based in Arizona, and is owned by partners P & E, originally met in the Ira Fulton School of Engineering at Arizona State University. Between the two of them they hold a total of seven degrees.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide males with available contraceptive methods to balance the responsibility of birth control ownership.
Our Purpose
To provide an available male contraceptive as a step towards reproductive justice, greater equity in family planning, creating a better gender balance of contraceptive responsibility, and hold males socially and financially responsible for any children they father.
Our Future
In the near future, we are proud to provide a solution for this global unmet need, introducing the world’s first injectable, non-hormonal, and biodegradable hydrogel that blocks and alters sperm motility in the vas deferens as a safer and less invasive method.
